The McChicken is truly fantastic. Before that, they had the Crispy Chicken Classic, and well... it was a "classic"! And for children, I can't think of a more nutritious AND delicious burger than McDonald's's patented plain quarter pounder premium beef burgers. Any and all criticisms of McDonald's's food is usually made by online trolls paid by competitors to "astrosurf" the internet with fallacious claims meant to denigrate McDonald's (yes, they really do pay people to say this stuff on the internet. CREEPY!!) Honestly, there are just so many great options at your local McDonald's, with really friendly staff that will fulfill all your needs.

Fries used to be fresh and made from tallow, and the shakes used to be good. Kids would go there just for those sometimes. McDonalds always sold itself as a quality establishment. As with everything in America, quality slowly declines due to fucktards and the rest of us being to apathetic to stand against them. Some jackass blamed animal fat for his stroke and had the massive amount of money to travel city to city blaming animal fats for heart problems, rallying for people to switch to hydrogenated oil. McDonalds eventually shrugged and switched to cheap shit as the general public listed to bad science and hysterical media, then started using beef salt to season their fries. Which didn't work because of retarded vegetarians and dot people. Now McDonalds just doesn't care because it's easiest to make shit as cheap as possible and cater to the dumbest people possible, most everyone else will put up with it or get used to it.

When we moved there was a Mcdonalds but he was two kids heavier, and had to stop the fast food.
I remember one time when I was a bit older and my dad obviously had gotten a raise we all went out for some food and he took us to McDicks, this was probably in the late 90s by then, and we never went back.

McDonald's isn't inherently unhealthy. In fact most entree menu items (except desserts) have decent nutrition ratios. The major problem with McDonald's and fast food in general is that it's not filling and everything is a calorie bomb so multiple menu items in a single meal adds up quickly.

The problem with Supersize Me (as outlined in multiple research studies and the documentary Fat Head) is that Morgan Spurlock intentionally overate in order to push an agenda and didn't watch his caloric intake (the latter invalidates his thesis as his documentary hinges upon the hypothesis that fast food is inherently unhealthy in a controlled testing environment).

>> No.12576018

Hamburgers should not be associated with bad food.
Fast food, processed foods, food items that come in packages made in bulk processing lots to be quickly reheated and consumed are the worst "foods".
Make it at home from scratch is very easy and you are using fresh ingredients, freshly made, and better for you. No need to have a cheat day.
We do this at home and it beats all others, we have it regularly. Take me 10 mins max to prepare.

>> No.12576026

I think a bigger problem is that nobody defines what they're talking about by "unhealthy"
You could say that McDonalds food tends to be calorie dense and lacking in essential things like fiber which could certainly be considered unhealthy to certain people, such as fat fucks. But for a body builder or athlete McDonalds might be fine.

Alcoholism fucks with your appetite. I never want to eat after a bender for days. It takes half a week of weaning off before it's normal again. I had a double cheese burger and small fries today, tossed over half in the garbage. But then you get a craving and want to binge so you wind up over eating, say eating an entire Hungry Man meal or three slices of pizza and you wind up puking it up.

I have probably revealed more of my lifestyle than I would be comfortable with.

>However, he pointed out the dangers of a diet solely made up of processed foods of which a vast many people adhere to either by habit or circumstance.
first, this isn't McDonalds alone. the movie fixates entirely on 1 particular fast food joint and demonizes it. he doesn't talk about other junk food like candy bars, or other restaurants like BK, he just takes McDs alone.
second, eating SOLELY processed foods can indeed be dangerous, but who's that ignorant to do this anyway? pretty much everyone will tell you that you need balanced diet. McDs does not exactly claim to provide balanced meal plan, they're just here to make fast satiating food. you could as well eat only vegetable carbs and wonder why you "suddenly" get problems, then blame fruit companies.
third, his whole process is highly suspicious, like many pointed out already. there's already enough BS in nutrition science, one more questionable and biased """study""" doesn't help much.

I'm asking because if I consumed all 3 items at once, I'm 100% guaranteed to have stomach pain and diarrhea. Probably because it's a huge amount of fat.

It's not the food it's the person. No one is forcing people to eat 3000 cals of big Macs every day. Fat people are fat because they have weak willpower or eat as a coping mechanism. sedentary lifestyle + work obligations that involve sitting for 8+ hours + using a car to get everywhere is really more the culprit than "weak will"

most people age 30+ in the USA simply don't get the exercise that humans in other countries/the past got, which makes you gain weight over your lifetime

I agree that mental/emotional problems can really be an issue, especially in younger people that are fat. Also a lot of kids get really discouraged at a young age by sports because they aren't good at them. I don't know what you're saying, it's pretty much common knowledge and even children know that. I don't know what rock you have to live under to not know why "junk food" is called so, that veggies are good for you and that you should probably work out.
the common ways this happens is poor parenting, or just people letting themselves go and overindulging. both really are not McDs fault.
anyone with half a brain also knows that you have to burn as many calories as you take in. again, if you take some fatty who orders 7 big macs, wtf do you want McDs to do? refuse order? in US of A, in the year 2019 of our lord?

yes. In the US you're being evaluated for sports from the age of 4 or 5. if you don't fit into any kind of athletic program, they basically abandon you. It's really shitty. Even the so-called "recreational" leagues that children and college kids can play in are hyper competitive. If you suck at sports, you are pretty much treated as 2nd class and can go fuck yourself. Competing at youth sports is basically the centerpiece of most American education rather than actually learning anything practical or useful.

I think a ton of people get burned by this and never really learn how to take care of themselves, or learn to resent sports and assume that they can't be fit because of the bullshit that they went through as kids. I was like this until I started lifting and got into riding mountain bikes.

wow, never thought it'd be like this. I kinda took decent PE classes for granted in my country and assumed that's how it was in all countries. thanks, very educational and eye-opening. this explains a lot but it's sad at the same time. to think they cut corners on this… pretty absurd.

McD's was great back in the day when all of its workers and cooks were young, white high school/college kids because they were smart enough to take care in their work and were only using the work as a job to make some money in their teens.
Then in the 1980's McDonald's starting advertising their "McJobs" program (basically putting literal unironic retards to work there).
Now their restaurants are staffed by adult spics who successfully out-competed actual retards and highschoolers for a temporary job that the bean-niggers want to make into a lifetime career that will support a family of 10.

Aren't the Canadian A&Ws run by a different company? I had heard they are way better than the chain in the United States. For my area, the best fast food burger is from Culvers.

try too lower it and drink a few light piss beer. i gave up my fav, 211 steel reserve. two weeks ago, i drank 4 24oz cans (not much).. but i drank them faster than average. it would usually take about 6 hours to drink them, i did it under 1 1/2. dumb, but i did it. my hangover lasted more than 3 days and i just wanted to cry in my work's bathroom. i got this neurological shock, not a regular hangover. i did't eat for a lot for 3 days (some forced crackers and peanut butter). sucked ass. i'm trying to quit (or at least have large amounts of time not drinking).. so i'm getting tea crazed and only sipping 3 12oz cans of natty a week (6 12oz cans since the last two weeks). i'm also enjoy THC edibles (microdosing for subtle buzz, not going deep).

Basically the management of the Canadian A&W bought the entire thing, so the Canadian one is completely independent. Then they pivoted towards higher quality, higher cost products and nostalgia pandering for old people. You go to one in Canada and it's styled like a 50's diner with the decor. The menu has the Burger Family and Chubby Chicken from A&W's hey day in the states. Not uncommon to see a gaggle of old men pull up in their collector cars and get breakfast from the A&W closest to where I work.

its pretty much a meme restaurant. The whole story behind Shake Shack is that it's a Wall St funded blitzscale stock play. They put them in high foot traffic trendy areas (or at least they used to) in an attempt to get big volume sales, and try and open new locations as fast as they possibly can and pump out PR and social media crap to drive up the stock price. The company operates on big leverage and their physical locations are all leased at huge expense. Somebody tries to do one of these kind of things every couple of years (Chipotle being a big example). The singular goal is for the owners to meme this shit for long enough for them to liquidate their holdings and make a bundle, regardless if the place fails in the long run.

Even a glance at their stock data without even digging into a 10K shows how silly it is. Beta at 1.57 is absurd, and their P/E ratio is astronomically high. EPS is also terrible.

I don't have historical data but around a decade ago they did the same thing with Krispy Kreme. It blew up then crashed and burned and got taken private.

In general at any given point in time there are a handful of stocks on the broader market that do this kind of shit. The TV guys get paid to meme the shit out of them, they go way up, and their numbers are clearly too wack for anyone that isn't just plain gambling. The early money and the promoters sell off as it goes up, then the hype train stops and it goes back down.

Back then there was no concept of fast food so even though it was super simple it was cheap and could be had very quickly, pairing well with the new highway system being built across all of America and the changing lifestyle needs of the people commuting on them.
