I used to work at a Sbarro in a mall in Kentucky. The pizza is actually really good when it's fresh out of the oven. It's not soggy and limp, it's slightly crisp and the sauce is really flavorful. Their cheese is good quality too, and we used to grate it by hand. Thing is, 99% of the time you're getting a slice that's been sitting under the heat lamps for 2 hours.

Oh, and if you've never tried their baked ziti and they've just pulled a batch fresh from the oven, go for it. I used to take a big bowl home with me every night.

I had one experience with a sbarro and it was terrible. I was at a convention and hungry as shit. there was a sbarro at the food court so I was going to grab a piece of pizza before I went home. right as I got there they told me they were closed. I pointed out that it was still 2 minutes before the hour and then they tried to tell me there wasn't any pizza left even though I could see an entire one sitting under the heat lamp.
