You should. The only people I've known who didn't like it were korean women who have an abhorrence of anything gravy. It's simple to make as well. Fry up some crumbled sausage (cumberland has a similar spice profile to american breakfast sausage but with less sage), dust with flour and stir a minute to make a light roux, add whole milk or cream and simmer until thickened and no raw flour taste. Add a shitload of fresh ground pepper. Biscuits are ideal and Alton Brown has a good recipe for them, but barring that english muffins would work. I think scones might be too sweet.

I have been making a breakfast crunchwrap from taco bell at home lately.

>fry up hashbrown pattie and two mild sausage patties on medium-high heat
>move to side of pan, turn down to low-medium heat and add butter and egg, scramble in pan
>remove hashbrown, put on center of tortilla
>put the two sausage patties on the hashbrown and then the egg on top
>sprinkle some shredded "mexican" cheese blend and sriracha aioli
>wrap up like crunch wrap
>add butter to pan, pan fry to close up the crunch wrap and enjoy

It's too much to eat all the time, about 850 cals, but it's godly for a weekend hangover breakfast

One of the reasons biscuits, cornbread and tortillas were the primary bread style choice in the agricultural US is because they can be prepped and cooked very quickly since the women had a full day of chores ahead of them. They didn't have time to fuck with rising breads except for holidays. It's one reason the US never developed a unique bread culture other than San Francisco sourdough.
