Here’s my analysis of local breweries and “microbreweries” where I live in buffalo, which takes its drinking very seriously because there is nothing else to do around here

Small breweries
> neat and cozy though a little weird
> stock decent beer and host good events
> the beer they make is so ridiculous and heinous it’s like drinking horse milk

Large breweries
> stock mainstream shit beer
> the events are loaded with sweaty boomers that gag me to be around
> the beer they make is drinkable but not special

I've never dealt with that. Here in Texas, HEB has entire sections for just local craft, apart from full macrobrew. Liquor stores handle their own window / shelf space, and some grocery chains just have corporate policies that never truly get followed. It's never been an issue for me to get one of my better products in a prime spot. I've even built displays in front of Bud products and whatnot.
