A while back I asked people on here what would be a good stout to try since I hadn't had too many. Pic related was recommended. I enjoyed it, not gonna lie.

This was some homebrew beer, a 7.7% berry stout. Threw about 3 lbs of blackberries and 3 different kinds of raspberries in the secondary, also added about 16 oz. of cold-brew coffee, shit was cash and kicked like a mule.
As for recommendations I'd say go to the store and just try something new, be sure to check the date and make sure the beer is somewhat fresh, although if it's higher ABV (7% or higher) a little age can smooth out the rough edges. My favorite stout is Guinness Foreign Extra.

I'm always up for sour recommendations if you have any. I picked up a "make your own 6-pack" at the store yesterday, so I got some stuff the try for tonight.
Will probably pick up some other Central Waters beers next time I go to the store.

If you're in Wisconsin keep your eyes open for indeed's wooden soul series. The only one I havent loved so far was a blueberry one. Drinking pic related from them. Honestly tastes like a dessert they'd make on great British baking show since they love lavender so much. Good stuff, but definitely not for everyone.

Needed a beer for my chili recipe, picked this one since it says it has hints of dark chocolate, peanut butter and coffee which are all flavors people reccomend in chili. How'd I do?

Well Wisconsin has that German ancestry so of course we like our beers here.

Don't forget sours, goses, amber ales.
Tbh I don't think there's an issue with having some stouts right now.

I fucking hate the taste of beer
Some alcohols are intolerable but man beer is just bitter garbage every single time

What beer should I try so I can learn how to like it?

What beers have you had?
I like sour beers a fair bit. Sours and some fruity beers can be pretty good. You can also have some good old lagers and amber ales if you want something more normal. If you don't like bitter much, then stouts/porters might not be for you.
If you want to try some sours, try Sour Monkey from Victory or New Belgium's Sour Saisson. I like both of those. For a lager, try Harp, made by Guinness. For an amber ale, New Belgium's Fat Tire is pretty nice.

If you are by Wisconsin, try any New Glarus beers.

Try Irish red ales, they are remarkably non-bitter. Hefeweizens as well. Many Belgian beers uses almost no hops whatsoever.

Belgian red and rasberry tart are the koolaid of sour beers. That said they are amazing and any Wisconsin fag is lucky as any asshole has a right to be.
