Neither. The only things I'd eat from McDonald's are the breakfast items, and the only things I would eat from Burger King are the chicken sandwiches and the Big Fish.

In the $1 hamburger category, McDonald's by a long shot. It's like Campbell's condensed soup - it's trash but once in a while it hits the spot.
For a "real" fast food burger, the Whopper curb stomps the Big Mac, even more so when the Angry Whopper's in town.

McDonald's but only because I worked in a burger king when I was at college and I've never eaten there since.

I know the same sort of stuff almost certainly goes on in McDonald's as well, but I've never actually seen it so I can pretend it doesn't.

Both for different reasons and times. For me, BK is more of a savory "lunch" burger, whereas McD is more of a sweet evening "dessert" burger.

To me the Whopper tastes like an ok imitation of an actual hamburger like I'd make at home on a grill, the ratio of meat, veggies, bread, and condiments is perfect. I don't even get it with cheese or bacon because then it starts tasting too fast-foody. The McDonald's quarter pounder and Wendy's original doesn't do anything for me. I do occasionally enjoy a big Mac but it doesn't taste anything like a traditional burger, it's something else entirely.

McD's quarter pounders have changed within the last year or so. They're quite good now. Everything else is shit. BK's burgers are....burgers. I don't mind a whopper every once in a while, but I don't really go there except for breakfast. BK's breakfasts are usually hot and cheap, so I go for those when I'm in a rush to work. Wendy's chicken sandwiches are the best. Spicy and juicy.
