Of course it does. Think of all the extra 2 inch thick, chewy, dry, inedible pizza rims you have on those 12 inchers.

Overall surface area for the 18" wins, yet the 12" have more outside we want to dispose of, all the more reason to purchase the 18".

>> No.12459441

It might be counter-intuitive, but it's pretty obvious if you bother to think about it for a second.

I do this whenever I'm out at a pizzeria and I want to see which of their pie options is the best value. In my experience it's usually the middle pizza that has the best dollar to pizza ratio

I made a spreadsheet of all the pizzas' price per area ratios at my local pizzeria because they have different specialty pizzas that cost different amounts for the same diameter.

try telling this to DOHC fags that constantly rag on push rod OHV engines as if they actually plan on revving past 8k to justify the lower valve weight. Sure on a F1 car it makes sense but on a street car there is no justifying a 3.0L 2JZ-gte that weighs 600lbs over a 7.0L LS7 that weights 440lbs

Yeah but if theres a two-medium deal for the same price as a large, isnt it sometimes worth it to get two different smaller pies with different toppings? I like Dominos carry out deal for two medium 2 toppings. I can do a pepperoni/jalapeno and a spinach/mushroom for variety vs a large 1 topping (Im assuming we're talking papa johns, dominos, etc)

>> No.12461568

>>12461529
But Domino's also offers the $7.99 Large 3 topping pizza for carry-out. Sure, you lose out on one topping, but you're saving money and getting more pizza for your buck

subtract 1/2 inch from radius, so instead of 9/2 it's 8.5/2, and instead of 12/2 it's 11.5/2, proceed as in OP

Also calculate it before the subtraction and subtract the reduced total from the unreduced total to discover the total quantity of crust as well, if that is the concern.

Here you go. The top left quadrant is the prices for each pizza and the price per square inch (ppsi) of pizza. Below that is the percent savings in ppsi that you get by going to the next larger size. As you can see, you don't really get any savings going to the 16" from the 14" for the wise guy, chicken ranch, meat lovers, and buffalo chicken ranch so if you're not that hungry and want one of those, the 14" is the best bang for the buck.
The graph is just the average ppsi for all the pizzas.

This is more for choosing between different sizes of a style than between different styles. The different toppings and crust styles make it hard to compare between styles.
