My mother insisted on cooking at least 5-6 nights a week growing up but she never seasoned or marinated anything so like London Broil would go straight from the packaging, onto the grill, and cook until no red inside. I knew she was a shitty cook but I thought that was 'normal.' it wasn't until I was a full grow adult I discovered that people would prepare foods with spices and sauces days in advance. I still have a phobia sort of condiments. I don't eat ketchup/mustard/ranch/any of that shit and it disgusts me like when I see some fat person lathering their food in sauce or biting into food and getting suace on their face I completely lose any appetite.

Give them a break, it's hard to find reasons to feel superior or even somewhat on par with the race that is 99% responsible for building human civilization to its current peak.

poor/middle class blacks are the same, they just dump tons of bbq sauce, ranch, or hot sauce on everything. it's a reflection of what kind of people use twitter, I wouldn't take it seriously.

Honestly my parents did this with American food a ton as they're both immigrants from India. My parents wouldn't voice their criticisms with "white" people in general though, theyd just criticize American food for the lack of seasoning. I guess if you're Indian you're probably autistic about seasonings to a point where you outdo every single race. My parents would bitch about the seasonings in mexican food too, they were kind of annoying with that. They loved European foods though, never complained about the seasonings used in Italian, Russian, Spanish, or Dutch cuisine which we would try a surprising amount of. Honestly I think a lot of brown people have issues with American food specifically, not "white" people in general

I grew up poor white trash. We lived on the creek and didn’t have electricity for a couple of years, had a ring washer, and hung out clothes out on the line. Didn’t even have tv until I was 20. Our food was always homemade and seasoned, and we grew hot peppers in the garden and pickled them and made hot sauce. Habaneros were one of the hotter ones back then, but I grow bhuts and reapers. I don’t mind the heat of spicy Thai food or wings etc but they are disgustingly bitter

I used to work for a v. high end grocery store in prepared foods where we were selling grilled tenderloin for $50/lb. It was beautifully seasoned and when reheated just right, it about melted in your mouth. My coworkers and I were given store gift cards by the GM one day and we all went for that tenderloin at lunch. I put mine in the oven and got it to that perfect medium rare. Fucking awesome. But then I watched as my black coworkers completely torched theirs beyond well done and dumped sriracha sauce all over it.

This depends on the flyover we're talking here. Southern whiteys, a la Cajun and Creole are good about seasoning. The people getting shat on here are midwesterners, plains staters, and people in the parts of the northeast that have been abandoned by god like upstate New York. Literally had to put up with family members who wouldn't even put salt and pepper on steaks. Not saying all their food is bad, some stuff like funeral potatoes are guilty pleasure and southern tier NY/northern PA have god tier pizza, but they derive flavor from strongly flavored ingredients like cheese rather than spices.
