Build one of these. Ferment your wash in a 30 litre bucket with airlock. Siphon off the clear wash liquid 1-2 days after bubbling stops and yeast settles to the bottom of the fermenter bucket. Run through still for 90-95% alcohol.

There are countries where alcohol is taxed to the point that home distilling and brewing become very attractive. Every bottle of spirits where I live has about US$20 of taxes on it alone. Places like Norway and Finland are even worse.
