yes
keto mainly works because a high fat diet will suppress the appetite in a major way
it's always calories in vs calories out. there is no mystery to how this works
that said, a high-fat, low-carb diet just feels like the way to go for people who love animal fat, butter, oil, etc.
you can't have carbs and sugars and also fats or it's insulin spike city
what they are saying is a ketogenic diet has been done for decades. reducing carbs is going to make you lose bodyfat, period. and also water

It's as good as it gets and it works. Your body isn't going to generate weight out of nothing. Are you fags still blaming "muh genetics" these days?

That's literally how it works. Fad diets come and go and most have health problems that get in the way. Literally the only surefire way is to monitor your calories in and calories out. Your metabolism increases the fatter you get and eventually your body starts burning it faster. It's all about self-control and discipline.

stop eating and you will lose weight, simple as.

>> No.12412584

>>12412552
Diets that tell you to eat consistently less fail in 95%+ of cases. This is because of hormonal problems caused by eating patterns that lead to the person becoming fat in the first place are not fixed (the phenomena known as body-set weight where short term declines or increases in weight will eventually rebound due to hormones influencing decision making and body function). This is why fasting has become popular because it can lower insulin resistance and change these hormonal problems.

>> No.12412604

>>12412518
The issue with reducing carbs is that if you do it too much, you're fucking up a lot of bodily functions along the way.
>>12412584
Fasting can fuck up your body in so many ways if done improperly. You don't even need to eat a lot less. Eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism active and just fucking walk around. It's incredibly hard to be fat if you just move more.

>> No.12412653

>Fasting can fuck up your body in so many ways if done improperly.
The only problem is in healthy or underweight people doing prolonged fasts. Fat people who add electrolytes into their water will experience no problems because refeeding syndrome is caused by sugar being quickly re-introduced while lacking electrolytes - specifically phosphorus.

>Eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism active and just fucking walk around. It's incredibly hard to be fat if you just move more.
Your metabolism does not turn off if you fail to eat, metabolism is the process of chemically transforming sugars and fats into usable energy. In fact, eating constantly throughout the day is what causes insulin resistance (pre-diabetes) which is how obesity develops in the first place.

You are giving out horrible outdated dietary advice

>This is because of hormonal problems caused by eating patterns that lead to the person becoming fat in the first place are not fixed

This is because people don't read serving sizes most the time. I recall my roommate became a fat fuck because he though ever gallon of milk and thing he ate was the label on the front and not per serving

This but also try to increase testosterone and estrogen levels while lowering cortisol levels. This is where a lot of people get stuck. You can do simple stuff like thinking positively and start finding stuff that inspires you to help with this.

If you have more muscle mass too it will make it so your burn more calories passively.

i promise you are not. you make sugars for the brain from the kidneury. it's automatic. you probably wont believe me but ive done maybe four years of extremely low carbs now. maybe 20 or fewer carbs per day.
calories in vs. calories out is the only thing that matters
but high fat will make you fill full, and high carbs will make you feel hungry. and if you are not highly-active, you're going to get fat

I wrote a long ass post but pressed escape but a shorter version:
Check calories, protein, carbs and fiber for food and keep in mind all of those for if you were to eat a whole bag of something. You want low calories and carbs(around 35g for a meal is good), and high protein(reccomended daily amount is 60g, even 40-50 is better than most people) and fiber(so you actually feel full).

If you fully pigout on something and eat 2500 calories of junk food one day, then eat a can of black beans and salsa for penance.A full can of black beans will fill you up and be like 250 calories. Also don't drink your calories outside of milk, and even then keep it in moderation, don't gomad.

Kind of. If you run at a caloric defecit, your body will turn to ketosis (as opposed to glycolysis) to try to supply its energy needs. While the diet will steer you toward a longer/constant state of ketosis, it does raise the ketone content in your blood - past a certain threshold, especially if you're diabetic, that can be really bad for you.

So, yes with a but, or no with an if? If you're trying to lose weight, eating sensibly and exercise should be enough. If you're trying to lose weight quickly, consult a physician to see if your body can handle the shock, and starve it of glucose for a bit.

>> No.12414869

I lost 90 lbs and my main meal which I had 5 times per week was just oven-fries. Loads of pasta, bread and other carbs as well. Actually now that I think about it, it was a very carb heavy diet cause that's how I eat regularly.

I did bike 25-40 km per day so that probably helped
