My nigga, I live in Southern California where everyone uses gas grills and me and my friend did this shit on a whim

>cut it into logs
>put in hole in the ground
>burn it while talking about philosophy and physics
>take hot coals from burned wood
>place into smaller hole in the ground
>put BBQ grate over hole
>cook patties on grate

Then like sick fucking bastards we would put cream cheese and canned jalapeños on the burger, and holy fucking shit it is literally the best and most based way of making burgers. Every time I tell people about it they act like it sounds gross, but the second they try the based burgers they realize how fucking amazing it is to use natural wood coals to make a burger.

I used to, until I moved across the country, and had to leave the fire pit there. But it was a nice one; my friend gave me some fire bricks, so I was able to build a good, solid, fire pit with a grill.
I also own some land in a different state, and I had built a nice fire pit there as well, so every time we go visit, we cook over it, although it's gotten more weathered over time, and I'll probably have to rebuild it before we can use it again next time.
At home now, I have a grill and a smoker, neither of which I built myself.
