I ordered dominos and I actually spit it out. No sauce and a shitty flavour. I'd rather Pizza hut or pizza pizza and that's fucking sad. I ate dominos all through college 15 years ago.

I need /ck/ to tell me, do the majority of towns in the US, Canada, and Europe not have a dedicated local pizza shop?

As someone in the suburbs of NY, there's 4 places in my town solely dedicated to pizza, plus another 5-6 restaurants (primarily Italian) that have it on the menu.

I don't expect that kind of density everywhere but the idea of a town with non-chain pizza makes me sad. It's not about NY style, it's about the fact that someone wakes up every day to make fresh dough, stew a fresh sauce, hopefully grate some cheese, etc. that really gets lost with the chains. The only thing the chains do remotely well is cheese (since it's the easiest to get away with), hence why the majority of America's chain pizza is just heaped with unending amounts of cheese.

Also, my hot take: Any city/region of the US that is able to develop it's own pizza style has infinitely better pizza than the chains, regardless of how weird it may be.

Didn't read all of the thread as /ck has really been going downhill last few years, but Dominoes isn't too bad for what you pay. 5 topping 8 dollars. meh. Not the greatest but it does the job. Better than the cardboard that Little Ceasers sells at least.

There are plenty of places to get good pizza in MI, chains are obviously the most common though. Their sauce is mixed in store but the base still comes in cans, but it's a good sauce regardless as far as chains go which usually offer a very non flavorful overly sweet ketchup kind of sauce. The dough is also made daily so there is that.

I live in Vegas. As far as I know, there's no "joint" that's the definitive pizza place. I've tried ordering from local shops and 9/10 they suck. One place I even saw them pull out the frozen premade dough disk out of a freezer, unpackage it and "make" my pizza.
Sure there's some really good gems in the rough but they want 20 bucks for a single pie. Nationwide chains are at least cheap and consistent unlike roulette mode local places.
The people saying Dominos sucks are underrating it hard just to be a snowflake about it. Dominos is ok, it's a decent mid teir pizza place.
