Hey laddie.
I know how you feel, I'm a big guy myself that went down the fit road. I don't eat to live(fit) or live to eat(most of ck) but i eat for the sake of eating. I never liked breakfast so i spiraled into doing intermittent fasting, which made me realize the importance of food in my life: have i waited for 20something hours for this blob of shit? It helped me get rid of the snacks and most fast food.

In for the advice, learn how to do stirfrys. It's basically sauteed protein and veggies, the same shit you're eating right now, but tastier and more customizable. They're faster to cook too. Just stripe up some chicken or meat, brown them and put them out. Then add the veggies you're cooking, onions and mushrooms and whatever, i also like zucchini, you can use broccoli too. Once they're done to your liking, dump your chicken back in, season it like a motherfucker and you're set for a delicious meal.

You can have em with rice too, I don't like rice but they pair great.

I've still got pounds of rice left but when I do OMAD it's hard to get my protein in with worthless rice of any type.
I've switched to beans and lentils.
Lentils are god-tier. Flavorful on their own, even powdered cinammon and cumin make them exotic. Also fiber and protein with less empty carbs.
I don't see how rice is a part of a 100+g protein daily with calories restriction, without supplements which I'm not going to take.
I am using it up in bean and lentil mixes to get rid of it, it's as useless as white bread, all rice is as bad as wonderbread.

Wouldn't claim to be /fit/ but I'm getting there (175 lbs, squat 265x5). My macros are 150g protein, 2000 calories. I eat a lot of veggie burgers (Dr Praegers 28g protein has the best macros) and other fake meat, pea protein powder, and also some milk, cheese and meat. It might seem strange but eating less animal products makes it way easier for me to cut, I think it's the higher GI of plant products.

Pic related is tofu and vegetables stir fry noodles.

Not that guy but tofu is very versatile, learning to use it opens up loads of options. It's also nice to have a protein that keeps well in the fridge and tastes good from the freezer (the texture changes a lot from freezing making it better for certain dishes). I usually buy a block, cook one half for some dish then freeze the other half for a dish where I want it chewier.

with a plenty-seasoned serving of chicken breast and a mildly-seasoned potion of veg, I don't actually see why this is a problem? It's a carbohydrate filler, personally I wouldn't even bother so much with white rice, defeats the purpose especially if nutritional-eating is the goal. but a forkful of a chunk of chicken, maybe a piece of broccoli, and some rice, there's really no reason that every part of the dish needs to be equally-seasoned. Maybe a fully-cooked rice-based-dish might make a more exciting side, more important if you were serving in a restaurant, but this everything-must-be-turned-up-to-11-or-else-mockery mentality seems counterproductive and... Do people really hate the idea of this food so bad? I understand there's more elaborate dishes to prepare, but when I picture settling down for a meal at the end of a day with a physically-active-lifestyle, a plate of chicken breast and veg and a (smaller, brown-or-parboiled) serving of rice, I imagine myself eating excitedly and feeling very satisfied at the end of a meal.

When y'all talk of the sacrifice that eating this food apparently is, what great, elaborate foods do you imagine eating that are intrinsically-satisfying and not a mere overdosing on fat salt and sugar?

How would you make these dishes more palatable, human-brain-shortcuts nonwithstanding?

I mean obviously I'd take that same plate with a bunch of sauteed onions and peppers, among other spices and seasonings. But I also don't see a VERY modest portion of steamed broccoli as some Herculean task necessary to grit your teeth and grind through as a sacrifice to your longterm health.

Is fancier food really all that much better? It seems like a conditioned way of being to me, and not a good one.

>> No.12394041

assuming this is an honest question and not a troll for a second, it's nothing to do with fancier in most cases. it's the fact that this is the near-worst tasting versions of these foods possible. the only thing keeping this from being the utmost shit is the fact that the chicken is thigh meat, not breast, and it's seasoned. everything else is utter failure.

it's a very sad food-as-fuel-only diet, when you could take just a few minutes more and actually make nearly the exact same foods prepared better and not devoid of any semblance of actual taste.

sautee or roast the broccoli. season the rice (and cook it better). don't be like op and
