What are your favorites? Looking for suggestions. I'm open to both casual and upscale (even fixed menu stuff is cool with me). Lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, doesn't matter.

If you like an awesome beef feast, go to Hawksmoor. It's been a few years since I was there, so I don't know if it's changed, but it was fucking amazing when I was there.

Tipsy cake at Dinner (in Knightsbridge) was one of the best things I've eaten in my life. The main and starter were nice but forgettable though.

Honestly unless you are after something specific its best to just find somewhere that looks nice when you feel like eating. Lots of good street food about. I had a Lobster and chips from a van near Soho and that was amazing though its probably not there not.

Oh and I've heard the duck and waffle is good.

And Oblix Inside the Shard skyscraper is good (but its mostly about the atmosphere and the view)

What are the signs of a good pub in England? Just anything comfy looking?

>> No.12372055

>>12372011
Not sure but I just googled "Historic pubs in London" and everything that popped up looks comfy as fuck. I'd love to visit someday and get shitfaced with some ogre people.

Yeah you're only gonna find tourists drinking in 'historic London pubs', and enjoy £6 for a pint of Carlsberg. If you want a proper experience go to a nice country pub outside of London. Normally comes with delicious hearty traditional food.

Old School
- La Gavroche; Serious classic French with modern touches, an institution
-The Ritz; maybe the swankiest place in the UK, Escoffier classics and bowties
-Restaurant Gordon Ramsay; impeccable service, decor, and food
Modern
-Sketch; wacky, good fun and very well decorated. Unusual and beautiful food
-The Greenhouse; flashy af. lovely spot and interesting food
-Story; seriously off-the wall combinations and approaches, and quite a casual atmosphere

desu, just go to Chez Bruce and call it a day
>>12370803
do it, PH is a good man. Gavroche is legendary, and for good reason. Lunch is decent value

real ale, wooden fixtures, and a few hundred years old are good starts, and independence, proper food, and a local presence seal the dea

Cinnamon Kitchen is an amazing Indian place near Liverpool Street. Best tandoori chicken I've ever had. It's very upmarket though.
