so I'm another anon that just went to Jollibee's for the first time EVER today for lunch. A late lunch - it was a bit after one so it wasn't too crowded to sit down. The drive-through, however, had a line with more than ten cars in it - both when I got there and after I left. I got the Chickenjoy 6 piece bucket and a Jolly Spaghetti and a Mango Peach Pie. I was actually pretty full after the spaghetti and several pieces of chicken so I have dinner taken care of and also the pie since I was too stuffed to eat that. Had a side of corn as well. Corn was definitely nothing worth mentioning. Spaghetti was a little on the sweet side with what tasted like chopped hot dog in it. I can live the rest of my life quite fine without ever having that again - not sure why folks rave about it. Maybe if I grew up as a kid eating that I'd like it more. The chicken, on the other hand, would make me do the 40 minute drive again. Batter was pretty crispy and tasty but the meat beyond the batter was very well seasoned as well. A lot of fried chicken places do the batter really well but beyond that the chicken is dry and bland. So I agree that their chicken is a contendah! I would actually get Jollibees instead of KFC if they were located right next to each other and I had to choose. That said, Jollibees never seem to be located outside of Filipino neighborhoods so world domination won't happen unless they start taking chances and they start putting them in other neighborhoods as well. pic = much bucket of lunch AND dinner.
