Big Grain pushed the food pyramid on us as a ploy to sell more grains to Americans. People are healthiest subsisting on a diet high in protein, fat, dairy and leafy vegetables.

They're not toxic, but most people eat too much bread and pasta and that ain't good. Eat more simple foods and colorful veggies. It's not hard.

Many do contain things dubbed 'anti-nutrients' that your body has to process and breakdown costing energy and imparting no benefit.

Cooking food may destroy some nutrients it also destroys anti-nutrients. This is particularly true with wheat flour

"Toxic" is a fairly malleable word. Most humans do eat more grains than is optimal for their body. Is that toxic? It won't kill you immediately. It will have long term negative effects on your health. Make up your own mind. The dose is the poison.
