because elements are not designed to run at those temperatures for extended periods of time, especially when you are bending them with massive pots and spilling greasy shit all over them. newer electric ovens actually have limiters on the element that will cut out around 600. Everyone should be able to do basic appliance repairs. I'm no expert mechanic but I've been keeping my 32 yo washing machine going by replacing the water intake valve and water outtake pump for the simple reason it washes clothes better than the newfangled digital connected to wifi machines which are designed to breakdown at the expiration of the warranty. Those don't even have agitators so the clothes remain filthy. Websites like repairclinic.com have all the parts for old equipment and videos showing how to replace them. Plus who wants to buy new shit to help the economy under our current emperor?
