Oh yeah, there's plenty of outdoor seating restaurants in the US. Even the tiny town I grew up in had outdoor seating at about half the restaurants, although most of them were biergartens, not sidewalk cafes, but there were some of those, too. I live in a major city now, and there's legit tons of sidewalk cafes, everywhere.

We do but it's disappearing because the chairs and tables have to be chained and bolted to the concrete otherwise they will be stolen. Add to that people begin eating them if they're still not full (which is almost always the case for amerilards) after their meal and it becomes cost prohibitive.
