Took my wife out to the Eiffel Tower restaurant in Vegas for her birthday. That was a 380 dollar meal after the bottle and dessert.

Most I ever spent was on a nice seafood place in Rome with 5 other Americans from my wife's choir who had no clue what they were getting into or how to order. Spent over 600 euros to get their broke teacher and college student asses put of their without getting the cops called or offending the wait staff more than they had.

It's a hard lesson as an American to admit, but never dine out in foreign countries with Americans.

The other day I paid for a party of like 30 people at a bbq that was about 30 bucks per head, so it rounded about a grand the whole table.
But if it's a single meal, I don't really spend much, instead of dining once in a place that costs $200, I prefer to dine 10x in a place that costs $20. I don't eat much, so usually a $20 meal for me is a lot.

When on a visit to a French plant we had to drive about 2 hours from our hotel to the restaurant but it was great, it was one of those ridiculously fancy places with tiny portions and some dishes were with decadent stuff like gold leaf. Luckily everything was payed for by our companies.
I was there with a french delegation from the head of corporation and they looked at me in disgust when I asked our waiter if they also had beer, just after he was done with a long talk about all the wines they would be having that night.

He found out my girlfriend at the time had never had greek food, so he decided to hit all of the bases and basics, even saganaki, which his restaurant usually doesn't do.

$230 for some a5 wagyu, a few tapas, two lb crusty moldy month aged ribeye, two desserts. Had been working a pretty miserable office job and got to a concert near segerstrom center way early and decided to go to Vaca and go ham (or beef, I guess, mostly)

worth it - literal tears of joy were cried. The gregarious east coast folks next to me were like "Amar texted us to come for the soft shell"

I had told my waiter I gave no fucks and wanted whatever was fucking great that night and even after everything I ordered ('m 5' 9" 170 lbs fit-ish at the time and was by myself) the server whispered "there's 4 crab left do you want one?"

Would order it all again probably if I was still in the area and needed another pick me up type boost to beat back the drudgery of certain phases of life.

I as with my wife at the time, and she couldn't bring herself to let the cow lick her out, which I think marred the experience somewhat, but all in all it was a very satisfying orgasm for me, and a very good steak afterwards.

Also took another friend to the local dry aged steak house and got the ninety day aged tomahawk, the cheese and meat board, and drinks. Technically more expensive but I think they were about the same because we split the steak.

Best meal ever though? Steak and eggs with another good friend at sassy's strip club on easter morning. The food was decent amd the place was empty tonwe hung around with strippers all day basically. Strippers (at least in portland) are fucking fun as shit.

My parents took me to De Librije once (Dutch 3 Michelin star restaurant). I'd say it was worth it to get an idea of the shit high end restaurants do for that last Michelin star, but I don't feel the urge to go there again (I also can't afford that shit). The food was fantastic, but the main 'value' is the shit around it. One dish was just a tomato soup, but they had made a decorative and fully edible little boat to float on it, with the tomato skin as a sail. The soup was fantastic, but obviously 80% of their manpower went into making the fucking boat. Another dish was a very tasty trout, but they'd given him glasses made out of lemon peel and stuff. I think my parents paid over 300 euro per person for a 4 course meal.
The owners also have a hotel close to the restaurant where they host cooking workshops and 'only' 1 Michelin star dining, which boils down to exactly the same food quality but none of the dumb expensive food art. You pay about a third of the price you do in the main restaurant. I've been to the hotel on multiple occasions and I'd say that is probably actually worth it for the food, not just the experience, but I still can't afford to go there without getting sponsored by my parents.
