There's something majestic about fresh corn on the cob... buttered and peppered... absolutely dripping with American spirit. I could eat a stack of them without even blinking

I did this as a kid at family gatherings and such and my dad would always yell at me and tell to it like normal person. Boy, was that an early warning sign.

i will say though, the microwave method is perfectly good. you can get away with microwaving it straight up in the husk, and then cut off the tip and slide it out
a jew i used to work with taught me this and naturally i didnt believe him, but turns out it works just fine. then butter and salt
it's been a while, but 1min on high ought to do one ear, and i think for two it was 90sec

I'm not even American, but this.
Do you guys ever just remember enjoying food? Remember being 10? And you're at a birthday party for someone you play baseball with, and there's corn on the barbecue and a pound of cold butter sitting on a picnic bench that you just roll the corn in? I mean in retrospect it's sort of a cheap move to just buy corn and hot dogs for your kid's birthday but what more is really required.

Corn is one of those vegetables that rapidly deteriorates after it has been picked. Most people only ever get corn that was picked at least 1 week before it hits the shelves even in season, so they think you have to slather it in butter for flavor. Fresh picked corn, lightly steamed is amazing w/o anything added. But keep being fat because you think fresh picked vegetables are a jewish scam, lol.
