The works.
A perfect, toasted bun with crispy crust, garlic butter, a fried and cheese-filled thick sausage that's been scored, with a full assortment thrown on top. Bit of chilli, mashed potatoes, gravy, onions, green onions and chives for a bit of colour, maybe even a splash of mashed peas in there too. In layers thin enough that you can eat the fucking thing. Just magical.

Failing that, classic $2 onions and gravy in a piece of bread mate.

When I go to Costco my go to dog dressing is lots of relish, a cup of sauerkraut, lots of diced onion, and optionally just a tiiiiny squirt of ketchup.

>Ur also a child that needs constant sweetness
This is the weirdest meme. I didn't even hear about anti-ketchup people until maybe a few years ago. You would be looked at like a complete weirdo if you acted like ketchup was "too sweet" or "for kids." Also it doesn't even make rational sense since the real dominant flavor of ketchup is in the vinegar, not the sugar. Take away sugar and it would still mostly taste like ketchup. Take away vinegar and it wouldn't taste like ketchup at all.

Those basic American 'dogs look so fucking depressing. Do people actually eat them like that or is it just something they do for photos because it's cheap and easy?

I like my hotdogs Danish. Raw and fried onions, pickled cucumber, condiments as you prefer but I would take remoulade, ketchup, and mustard on mine.
