Don't tip any. Doordash uses tips to subsidize the guaranteed pay. You're basically tipping Doordash unless you tip over $5

t. delivery boy

Feel free to tip on the other apps though.

I've always tipped so far on Postmates, but that's because I get to see the delivery driver put that effort of greeting, giving me my food, and getting the fuck out as fast as possible no matter how rough their day may have been or not. I can feel that and throw something their way. Tipping early though, some guy can be a complete faggot about the whole interaction and still gets a tip? I can't, not now, maybe never.

That's why I like my grocery app Instacart. Tipping before the order includes the tip in the delivery guy's pay. Tipping after the order adds the tip on top of his pay. I was told to tip $0.22 to let the drivers know I'd be tipping after the order, so they don't spit on my vegetables. Then I usually tip $3-$5 depending on how much shit I bought.

This shit is so stupid. Why tip for a service when you dont even get a chance to recieve the service before you make such a decision. I understand that some believe in always tipping, but what about tipping more or less based on your experience. Its just bad design, all around. And then the driver can see that you didnt tip and they could have the backward mindset of "They didnt likenmy service!" before they even retrieved the food. Wtf man, this shit is dumb as fuck. Why would they design it this way? It doesnt help anybody and doesnt make anything easier. Wtf

Where do you order from that they "sticker" the bags closed? Nigga most restaurants give me the food in an open paper bag, or a plastic bag with the handles tied. Most orders I see are not secured against pubes/spit in any way.

>"Hey buddy, here's an extra couple of bucks if you try extra hard to get here on time."
>"if you try"
>if
But youre giving them that extra money beforehand and theres no guarantee that they'll do any amount of extra effort. And I dont know why someone would purposefully go slower; this logic just doesnt make sense.

>> No.12238636

>>1223860
You're not getting assured your tip is being given to someone for proper effort. Your early tip doesnt ensure the reciever will go that extra mile. And you're not insured for any kind of phenomenal service. Its just all wrong. Tipping early is dumb.

>> No.12238639

>>12238623
>theres no guarantee that they'll do any amount of extra effort
Some apps let you edit your tip afterwards. Instacart does, I know that. I have also contacted Grubhub twice to have a tip removed after the service was slow. You can take that money right back if you're unsatisfied.

Here you go, this is how all of our uber eats arrives. The stickers are different depending on where you ordered from, they always say "enjoy your meal" or "thanks for ordering from Wendy's" with the logo on it or something. You can't take the stickers off without ripping the bag, I've tried.

I live in San Diego, 5 minutes from downtown. I've been to dirty taco shops and upscale vegan thai-fusion bullshit places. I've done this for both Doordash and Grubhub. Never in my life have I seen bags like that or "security stickers". Both the taco shop and the thai-fusion place both give me your food in a plastic shopping bag, knotted at the handles. That pic you posted is a promotional image, nobody does that. Kinda like how they always show the drivers putting your food in a "hot bag". Haha nigga that's a hassle, nobody does that either.
