It tried it a few weeks ago at a restaurant and I thought it was really good. The burger didn't have its own name - it was literally just called the Beyond Burger (pic related -- and yes it was served on a wooden cutting board and not a regular plate).

According to the website, it had:

creole mustard
on a whole wheat bun

I thought it tasted meatier than an actual beef patty. I'd definitely like to try the Impossible Burger as well, just for kicks. I'm not vegetarian, but I love a veggie burger now and then. Honestly, if the flavor and (most of the) nutrition of meat can one day be perfectly replicated by plant products, I'm on board for it.

Tried one side by side with a real burger from the same place. It was clear from the texture, color and flavor that it wasn't real meat. Mostly the flavor, it tasted earthy and nutty, like a plant. Had a bit of soy flavor too.

I'd try it for a while if I had the literary resources and a source of raw meat I trusted. I mean I can usually get raw steaks around here, but there's no organ meats I'd trust, and that's essential right? I grind my own meat so that could help, but since I don't live near reasonable sources I wouldn't attempt this.

I do eat a fuckton of blue-rare everything though, beef and fish, and eat fish and beef cubes just marinated sometimes; and I keep my freezer cold enough to kill parasites so my shrimp are barely cooked unlike those crunchy shits other people make. I eat frozen liver medium as well.

I'd really like to try the next gen vegie burgers, it's a sensible next step. There are very sound environmental reasons to go to synth-meat and if it's good enough that you can't tell and it's no worse nutritionally than a meat burger, then I'm all for it.
Ethically, it's undeniably a good thing to kill less animals and if we one day get it to zero through science then that's great. In the mean time, I'll eat whatever burgers I can get my hands on and if the ethical ones are tasty then I'll be very glad to eat them.
