Oh ya you lil Australian dipshits think you won this round, just you damn kangaroo strokers wait,

The Royals of the (Burger) Kingdom have decided upon an offensive action plan against Australia, expect your foolish Island to be bombed into the ground by our Royal Air Force and expect Sydney to burn to the ground under the fury of the Kings Royal Navy.

This is what you get for your disobedience, foolish colony, may you forever fear the day when flaming burgers drop out of the sky, exploding on impact as you realize, and scream to yourself, why, oh why, didn't we succumb to the almighty Burger King ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Hungry Jack's is owned by BK; they just can't use the "Burger King" name since there was already another restaurant that trademarked the name over there before BK had planned to expand their business in Straya.

In a similar fashion, Dunkin' Donuts is known as "Dunkin' Coffee" in Spain due to a bakery product industry already owning the rights to the word "donut".

You started by acknowledging they are the same company. Why would you then suggest they sue themselves as if they were sepperate companies?

American here and I thinks Aussies are damn cool to tell BK to piss the fuck off.
Could the cunts at Burger King just call it BK or something like that?
I don't know Aussie copyright law but that seems like it would pass unless that guy copyrighted and patened that one too just for fun and giggles.

The Australian guy was clearly using it for business and while doing so Burger King had no standing to claim the name since the Aussie guy had it first and was actively using it. Plus Aussies don't like others telling them what to do. ++Aussie side on that.

BK could do something retarded like buy up all his suppliers or something like that, but that would just make a big stink, that would cost more than it would be worth and would show them to be underhanded scumbuckets.

They opted to use one of their existing trademarks instead of making a new one. The parent company that owns Burger King also owns the Hungry Jacks brand of pancake syrup.

They could use the name Burger King today, but the guy with the rights to sell their franchise in Australia is sitting on the Hungry Jack's name and would have to rescind those rights if he were to change the name.

this isn't 100% true.
Yes, there was an existing burger king, and the new Australian franchise guy did pick Hungry Jack (which is a pancake mix iirc), the Burger King company still eventually made their own stores here which resulted in a lawsuit between the original Australian dude and the Yanks who deliberately tried to fuck him over. And the yanks lost and now everything is HJ's.

We have that as well in the states, Hungry Jack is mashed potato and pancake mix.

It's all in fun until copyright and patent lawyers get involved. I suspect that Aussies and Americans would solve this over a beer and not give it a second thought. That's what happens when real people do stuff instead of annoying ass government weenie tots.
