What are /ck/'s favorite desserts?

For me, it's tiramisu.

One thing I dislike about Asian food is that the desserts/sweet foods are generally shit. It's all red bean paste.

Have to agree, Asian sweets suck, with the exception of Mochi, sweet Sesame Dumplings, and some fusion stuff (green tea icecream, red bean icecream, Japanese cheesecake, etc).

1. Tiramisu

As a Burger, I find I am also surprised that certain basics and staples are uncommon or non-existent in the rest of the English speaking world and white Europe. When you are used to certain things, it seems unbelievable that other cultures go without it completely. I'm pretty sure that the vast, vast majority of British desserts, "puddings", pies (sweet and savory), and more are not a thing anywhere else unless as some sort of novelty pub food but even then they gear the menu towards typical Burger food with a few authentic dishes and sides sprinkled in. I have been to plenty of Irish pubs but can't say I've ever been to an English one aside from fish and chips joints.

Things move fast in the tech world. Remember 10-15 years ago people were still running Windows XP and smart phones were a fad and every office had a Windows 2003 server shrieking away in the broom closet. The people that inspired all the Indian programmer jokes are now running profitable telemarketing scams, meanwhile major banks with trillions in AUM have outsourced significant amounts of their tech operations to India to take advantage of the new crop of engineers. These aren't companies that are going to fuck around when there's that much money at stake.

Well they certainly are not a thing in America, Mexico, and France. English food is so unpopular in America that English restaurants and specialty stores are very few and far between and often go out of business. We have chicken pot pies and some regions have some variations of other savory pies, but it's not common outside of those regions. Savory English pudding is not a thing in America. We have bread pudding, but I believe that it's completely different than sweet English puddings, and it's also only popular in certain regions. You cannot find "pretty much everything" of the English variety even with slight variations everywhere. You have to seriously go out of your way to find any sort of traditional English food including "slight variations" of those foods in the three countries that I mentioned. Wow your 1 example of Anglo food Euro countries have in common is a) a dense cake typical of Europe with b) a common dessert ingredient in Europe, Anglosphere, Asia Minor, Asia, and US. Is your next example of food England has in common with the the world going to be vanilla ice cream? You can find various potato dishes worldwide, too!

LMAO. So no European country has its own cuisine and unique local dishes that that aren't eaten outside of their respective regions?

Let's look into some English cuisine and see if it's prevalent in America outside of the rare English restaurant/specialty store.

>(suet)pudding
Boiled/steamed dense dough of flour, fat, water, spices and fruit or meat. Not a thing here.

>savory stuffed suet pastry, pasty, & hand pies
Hot pockets, empanadas. Close enough.

>meat pie
Turkey, chicken, and beef pot pies - yes. Parts of the midwest do Americanized meat pies but not common in the majority of the US. You won't find steak and kidney pie or steak and oyster pie.

>stargazy pie/any sort of fish pie
No.

>sausage rolls
The closest things you'll find are hotdogs inside pretzel dough and mini hot dogs baked in American pastry dough.

>shepherd's pie
>scotch eggs
>corned beef and cabbage
>bangers and mash
You'll definitely find it in Irish pubs, some non-anglo pubs, and some comfort food restaurants.

>trifle

Tres leches is hard to turn down

I just have a sweet tooth in general. The last fantastic dessert I had was white chocolate bread pudding with rum sauce. I was absolutely stuffed and still ate almost the whole thing because it was fucking mind blowing. Still mad my gf refused to even try it

Also a big fan of
>Cotton candy ice cream, pistachio ice cream, and superman ice cream
>Pecan pie, coconut cream pie
>Creme brulee
>The humble milkshake
>A slightly undercooked, rich, fudgy brownie with walnuts

>LMAO. So no European country has its own cuisine and unique local dishes that that aren't eaten outside of their respective regions?
It has but those are mostly variations of what every europeans eats. Example Maultaschen or Serrano. Those variations and only locally growing food sources is what's unique by pure necessity.

>Let's look into some English cuisine and see if it's prevalent in America outside of the rare English restaurant/specialty store.
Ah, the american only knows what can be bought ready made at walmarkt. Classic.

>Suetpudding
Gefüllte Dampfnudel

>savory stuffed suet pastry, pasty, & hand pies
Handbrote

>meat pie
Pastete

etc.

And I'm only talking about german cuicine, the same can be found in at least Poland and probably all around because those are mostly make do recipes from the 17th century, retard.

You're just salty because I said it like it is, you're an uncultures amercian swine.

Are you actually asserting that you can buy stargazy pie, toad in the hole, eccles cake, jam roly-poly, beforshire clanger, tomatoe tart, jellied eel, gypsy tart, and treacle tart anywhere in the US as long as it's not Walmart. You're either retarded or trolling.
>suet pudding
Oh so there's something similar in Germany but no other European examples or any other examples worldwide you can come up with?
>handbrote
Also one example in the world of something similar.
>Meat pie
I gave you examples of similar things from North and South America.
>And I'm only talking about german cuicine, the same can be found in at least Poland and probably all around
>and probably all around
So you have no knowledge of cuisine outside of England, Germany, and Poland. Fuck off.

I am talking about recipes, you mongoloid. Recipes long shared by all europeans, slightly adjusted. Who the fuck buys all those mentioned shit realy mad? Of course its a fucking mutt.

>Oh so there's something similar in Germany but no other European examples or any other examples worldwide you can come up with?
I am a german therefore that is my example. I am sure as fuck that if I would bother to look it up you could find it everywher else, because those are AGAIN methods of preservation and make-do which were shared by all of them.

>Also one example in the world of something similar.
Handbrot is literaly "handpies" you joke of a mutt. Amerimutts and brits have it from their germanic forefathers.

>So you have no knowledge of cuisine outside of England, Germany, and Poland. Fuck off.
I gave you many other examples of things which can be found all around eurpe, not only classic english cuisine. But you want be to look it all up for you braindead mongo, because you can't accept the truth. Honestly, I don't give a fuck. Stay ignorant but do keep your retarded mouth shut on a fucking culinary board if all you know is Fertigfraß.

>bedforshire clanger
Russian Piroski, and under any other name can be foudn all over EE and germany. Again, a preservation method common all around europe, suits the same purpose like any other non-slimy dough structure with high caloric filling.

>>tomato tart
Tomaten tart, literally frence in origin and nothing but a thin tomato quiche or Lotringer Speckkuchen, with non-european tomatoes instead of bacon.

>jam roly-joly
It's a jam strudel, made all around europe like ciasto zawijane z marmoladą or Marmeladenstrudel. Peak basic recipe.

>eccles cake
Cakes with any regional fruit common again all over europe as a good preservation method, as the crust protects the fragile fruits for longer and makes it a energy high easily to transport to-go meal.

>toad in the hole
>Dishes like toad in the hole appeared in print as early as 1762, where it was described as a 'vulgar' name for a 'small piece of beef baked in a large pudding'.[7] Toad in the hole was originally created as a way to stretch out meat in poor households.
It's a Würstchen-Auflauf on the same principle like a potato casserole.

>stargazy pie
A fish pie. The only thing which makes it "unique" is the vulgar display which other europeans didn't practice due to a sense of aesthetics.

Not one thing of those "unique" which you have listed is really unique. Only slight variations of the same thing. But again, how could you know only knowing McDonalds greesse.

The question isn't whether you can make anything you put your mind to if you buy the ingredients however common or elusive they are. Way to move the goal posts retard.

>The question isn't whether you can make anything you put your mind to if you buy the ingredients however common or elusive they are.
I am talking about traditional cuisine, not simply making up some english recipe in france or somewhere else. Just because something can't be bought ready-made at your filthy super-market it doesn't mean it's not traditionally eaten by the people in said country. Measuring traditional cuisine by the walmarkt standard is peak brainletism.

>Keep going on and on about a few places in Europe and ignore the rest of the entire world. Idiot.
I was only talking about europe in the first place and those are only examples, which already are enough to prove your ridiculous assumption wrong.
