Wiki says: "Sprite is a colorless, caffeine-free, lemon and lime-flavored soft drink"
What's wrong with calling it lemonade?

Also,it may be limited to our country, but we pretty much translate the term soft drink as lemonade.

Because it is lemonade. The lime can barely be perceived.

Last time i checked, coke didn't have any coke in it either. What's the issue? People like to use inaccurate names for things? That's not exactly new thing, you know.

>"Europeans"
You get about 50 answers.

Drinking chilled lemon juice is not really a thing here, I believe in anywhere, so it doesn't come with a special term. In short, every region has their summer drink of choise, currant juice is the traditional choise here.

The only flavour you get on the heavily carbonated kind of mineral water is lemon (in addition to plain). The girly soft mineral waters come in variety of flavours, but that is global phenomenon.

Because no one outside of America recognises the still stuff as lemonade unless it's a particularly upmarket brand, same deal with cider.

>> No.12141715

German here, we basically call all carbonated sweet softdrinks Limonade /lemonade. We would call Coca Cola or Pepsi or Fanta lemonade too. It's like Americans calling a vacuum cleaner a Hoover. It doesnt really mean anything. Drinking still water with lemon juice is pretty unknown here.

This is even more retarded than yanks calling lemonade sweetened lemon water.

I studied in Europe for a couple years and this Scottish girl would make "fruit salad" whenever we'd have a get-together/dinner party type thing, and it started like a fruit salad (i.e. a bunch of diced fruit that looked alright), and then she'd put it all in a bowl and pour a giant bottle of euro Sprite over it to the point where it was basically soda soup with fruit chunks floating around.
