I usually just brown some onions in oil, add some curry powder. Then add some seasoned chicken, brown that and then add some more curry powder, mix and add water to submerge chicken and let that then boil out until it's a gravy

Dosen't look half bad anon. Next time I'd suggest putting the spices in the oil first (whole spices if you have it, even, like coriander and fennel seed) and fry it in the oil until it's all fragrant, scoop out the seeds and THEN add the onion and garlic. It helps develop the flavor a lot better.
Additionally, I usually marinate my chicken in the coconut cream and spice mix overnight, and just dump it all in there when it's time. It will cook just as well.
