why do memers add bay leaves to their food?

Maybe your bay leaves are too old or you're not using enough. They have a unique flavor. You could also just buy ground bay leaf.

It should be freshly dried. Old one gives away nasty bitterness.

I usually add a lot more if I'm using dried ones, even if they're purchased recently. Even then it has to be a long simmering time to make a difference.
The few times i've found fresh ones they are a lot more effective obviously.

If you use dried old leaves, just grind them into a powder. You don't have to simmer them for an hour to get the oils out.

I put them in canned tomato soup so I can feel like I'm doing something. Then I eat it directly out of the pan because I can't afford bowls due to my liquor budget. Please help me die

gotta try fresh leaves, only ever used the dried supermarket shit and it didn't really give off much taste, even in stew that cooked for a couple hours

Does Kaffir lime produce edible fruits for like lime curd and pie?

>> No.12108241

>>12108150
it sometimes produces very small bumpy limes, and I use the zest in green curry paste
that's good stuff.

there is basically no juice/flesh though, and it's not tasty.
