why is this allowed to be called "Pizza" in Amer*ca?

>> No.12104136

>>12103938
Because it's pizza.

Only chifags call it pizza the rest of america calls it "tomato and cheese soup in a bread bowl."

There'd honestly be zero issue if they'd call it casserole or quiche, but they insist on calling it pizza.

well they HAD to make it thick and heavy. they had no choice so give them a fucking break plebes. They live in the windy city and some thin crusted cardboard type pizza would blow the fuck away to New York or California so there's had to be way thicker

I've heard Detroit-style pizza is deep-dish and rectangle shaped because factory workers would a tool-container from their job to make pizza in. I've always wondered if Chicago-style pizza had similar origins because of their history of factory work.

>> No.12104841

Has pizza dough, tomato sauce, cheese, is cooked in an oven, and can be cut up and eaten with your hands. How is this not a pizza if it has all those components. Fucking Detroit pizza is mostly bread and apparently they get a pass.

I'll never understand why this upsets the edamame crowd so much.

Because New Yorkers have to act like they have the best pizza to justify their hilariously-high rent and filthy city.

The crust on a Detroit style is fucking killer. It's buttery and the cheese goes right to the edge and gets crispy. Chicago style tastes almost like s flakey biscuit

Its clearly not a quiche. (No egg)
And the crust disqualifies it from being a casserole.
It most closely resembles a pie. (Pizza in italian)
