welcome to the coffee zone, anons.
how do you take your coffee?
favorite brands, cafes, roasts?
favorite espresso drink?
for me, it's homemade cold brew, no added water. no milk or sugar either. or 8 to 10 espresso shots over ice if i'm buying it somewhere. sometimes a caramel macchiato if i'm feeling frisky

The flavor is noticeably different than using real grounds, most people would say it's worse. I can stand it because it reminds me of hunting w my dad, but even I don't drink it regularly. Everything you identify with, revolves around a cartoon frog. That cartoon frog gives your words validation. the cartoon frog makes you feel like you're part of a group. And you are.

Look at that group. The group you identify with, is intimidated by reddit of all things. "Oh noes, reddit won't let us call each other faggots! They're stupid, and we're cool!"

You are pathetic, and not in an admirable way, like you're in some band of misfit, misunderstood outcasts. Nothing interesting has been said or done on this site since 2008. You freely associate with incels, the people that have completely fagged out of any attempt at doing anything fun or cool, even once.

Go whine about how the incels belong on /r9k, because your boards are the "cool" boards. Lol. You're all exactly where you belong, on a go-nowhere, do-nothing site that keeps you chained, that somehow tricks you into thinking this is something to be proud of.

Fucking hell, I'm astonished it took moot so long to finally grow up and put this behind him.

Pic related, it's a frog that has made more money, and won more hearts and minds, and influenced more children, and lived more of a life than any of you ever will. Pro tip: it's a dude with a sock, and he was more creative and successful than you will ever be, being chained down to here.

the thing about a french press is it creates an emulsion between the water and the oil in the coffee grounds, so you get a more full flavor out of it. other methods that use a filter are draining out those oils, so it's a drastically different flavor. if you're treating coffee like expensive alcohol and want to get the most out of what you paid for at home then a french press + fresh beans ground at home would probably be the way to go

Anyone use a Porlex JP-30 grinder? If so, how many clicks should I use for brewing 4:6 method in a V60?
I've just about gone through my first 12 oz bag of good fresh roasted coffee, using anywhere from 5-13 clicks, and felt like I had decent results from around 10-12 clicks, but want to see if there's a consensus for grind size I can nail down?
Also is the JP-30 good enough, especially at courser grinds that the 4:6 method calls for (similar to French press)? Should I just bite the bullet and cop a LIDO? I use a 01 size V60 and use ~31g beans to 490g water ~95 C for light-med roast beans.
Also how to best store muh beans? I have a coffee gator storage canister but first good bag of beans only seemed to last barely 2 weeks before losing most of their subtle sweet flavors.

>how many clicks
There is no defined number of "clicks" that anyone can tell you, every coffee reacts differently while brewing so it comes down to you learning to make adjustments based on taste. Too sour? Make it finer. Too bitter? Make it coarser. Using a timer helps you to be more exact and have a baseline for what brew time typically makes each coffee best.
>should I cop a Lido?
Yes, it is just a good fucking grinder
>best way to store
2 weeks is just about exactly as long as you should be holding on to coffee, after that point it starts to stale. You can always freeze your beans to make them last longer, no need to thaw either you can just go straight to grinding.

It's worth it down the line if you ever decide to upgrade. You're getting a higher quality and more stable burrset that will last longer, give you noticeably higher quality, and allows for infinite adjustment across the entire spectrum of grind sizes because of the threading. Give yourself some time to learn more about brewing and developing a palette first before moving into higher end shit I guess, but the Lido is pretty much the backbone of a decent starter setup and allows you to expand towards any brewer, even espresso, with good results

I've got a 6 cup moka pot that I use with pic related to make a plain black Americano every morning.
Most days I drink a cuppa nescafe instant while I brew the americano as well.

Not that Anon but...

Ok shill it worked. One question: what's the big difference between the classic subscription and the hook it. They seem to be about the same. Does the hook up just send a single bag at the schedule frequency and the classic send you two of the same at set frequency?

La Colombe light or med roast
(Rwanda/Brazil/Papua/Guatamala all gud)
French press grind (Hario conical Burr)
Aeropress inverted method with stainless fine filter
Fill from 4 to 3 markings with grounds
Steep for ~3 min
Teaspoon of honey (I like chestnut honey)

Boom. Best fuckin coffee. Alternatively condensed milk instead of honey. Sometimes I'll do Vietnamese style with egg cream as well. That goes better with a darker roast tho.

The Starbucks instant coffee wasn’t so bad, but I only ever had a small number of freebies Starbucks handed out.

Chemex coffee makers probably make the best coffee.
If you can’t afford a genuine Chemex, there are knockoff coffee makers from Bodum, and from the Target Made by Design collection.
The knockoffs come with Stainless filters, but you’d be better off purchasing Chemex filters and using them in the knockoff Chemex.

I have no idea, some anon put me on to that shit like 2 weeks ago, I'm just about finished with my first bag. Not planning to use it for subs myself, just to find and experiment with coffees since I have no good local roasters to buy from.

fuck coffee and everyone who drinks it. Do you know how fucking dumb you all look scouting out every room you enter looking for a pot to make your shitty ass hot bean water?"MAN OH MAN WHERE DAT COFFEE POT AT MY DUDE?"

Some of you even have the gall to try to shill your shitty drink to your guests after every fucking meal. Who really wants fucking coffee after dinner?!

What's even worse is the lot of you that feel superior for drinking the shit straight. "Look at me! I love BEANS so fucking much that I CRUSH the fuckers and turn them into a DRINK! And then I claim I'm better than all the other BEANDRINKERS by chastising them over adding normal shit to their bean water to make it stomach-able!"

Fuck Coffee

Yeah it's strange. It came just sitting on the shaft, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I took it out because it wouldn't fit after I installed my stabilizer disk, but it still works normally.

I go with some of the Taylors Cacao Superior Colombia Coffee Beans. I have this neat place in my local market that lets me sample coffee beans as a cup of coffee when I visit. At that place, I usually go for the medim roasts from columbia if I can afford a bag, otherwise the Italian roast from Taylors is good for the price point.

I have mine black from a 32oz frech press.
Rarely, I will have a latte from a dear freind's café.
Honstly /ck/ if you've only tried the instant coffee you're really missing out on good coffee.
I grew up on the instant stuff but now I can't have it since the real stuff is so much better. You don't apperciate what you've got till it's gone people.
