Depends on if I thought the food was intelligent. If I thought there might be a quiet conspiracy to retaliate against the guy thats murdering sentient creatures by eating them, I would probably try to just drink soylent and dietary supplements.

Also I would be equipping my house with hungry dogs and security cameras.
