"The Basics" aka What I Always Keep On Hand At Home And Invariably Buy Every Week
>eggs (we eat ~30 per week)
>coffee
>cream for coffee
>sprouted grain bread for toast
>butter for cooking
>red and white wine
>bottled water for drinking
>jugs of water for cooking and making coffee (tap water is for brainlets)
>green onions (white part for cooking, green for garnish)
>cheese (washed rind for snacking or salty for grating)
>leafy greens for salad
>tomatoes (usually grape but sometimes also heirloom brown)
>gin
>juice as mixer (grapefruit and cranberry mainly)
Outside of long-term necessities like spices, oils, and baking stuff, everything else we buy is whatever the meal is for the next couple days. Tonight I'm making boeuf bourguinon.

I always buy a bag of imitation crab and eat the whole thing in one sitting. I've never used it in a recipe before, and it's not something my parents fed me. I can't remember when I started doing this or why

Shoplifting is about opportunity.
Think on your feet, if you get the chance of not being seen, shove that into your loose jeans, jacket, bra, or wherever.
You cant always plan what you will bag, but if you're smart and have a keen eye, you'll leave with something good.
The key is to look innocent and not get noticed. Buy your rice, beans, cabbage etc, steal the steak, good cheese, expensive spices, batteries, etc. Learn where cameras are, loss prevention, and use crowds to your advantage. Sometimes you have to do the pocketing a good distance from where you picked up the item.

It's 9 dollars for one of those massive bottles and their Shiraz isn't half bad. I've been to state dinners and all kinds of fancy bullshit the past decade, dined and wined on others dimes all over the western hemisphere, and I cannot be convinced that there is a better price/taste combo. And I'm a bureaucrat so it's not like my pockets are deep, gotta think of that bottom line.
