There's a good smoked meat joint nearby here in Warren MI; the Victory Inn & Victory Smokehouse.

I've heard they are really good?

There was another BBQ/smoked meat joint, the name of which I can't remember, on Garfield south of 19 Mile Rd with another branch on Groesbeck and 12 Mile that was pretty good but apparently they're gone, as it doesn't turn up on a map search.

There also was another BBQ joint right by The Victory on 12 Mile Rd called "Rubs"(?) and while their food was good, their take-out service was shit, as they'd regularly get orders wrong or forget items.

Save yourself the trip and money by avoiding Slow's BBQ. They're all hype. I went there shortly after moving up here from Texas. They turned out to be nothing more than run-of-the-mill stuff for Texas standards. I feel for the folks who miss out on quality meats from the likes of Texas and the region.
