Hey guys how easy is using a smoker. I'm basically not much of a cook. I can try a steak and cook some veggies. I want to buy a smoker to try and make beef jerky. What's easier electric or non electric smoker? I see the non electric ones are cheap as fuck. Are they easy to use for a noob?

Using a traditional smoker is not hard it's just time consuming and has a slight learning curve. Basically you need to make sure you have a fire going in the Firebox before you damp it down, and cut off the air so that your coals will smolder, but not go out or reignite. If your goal is jerky you'd be better off with a dehydrator, I made jerky in my wood fired smoker and while it worked out fine it's so intensely smoky that you have to get used to the taste. If you have the money to go and spend on wood, go ahead and do it. It's a lovely way to spend a nice day. Just make sure there's a thermometer so you can monitor your smoke chamber's temperature more easily.

I had it as a kid. My dad made it one time. It's intense but I loved it.

My cousin uses a smoker all the time and he’s a fucking idiot when it comes to cooking so you should be able to make it work.

Textspeak is not a "common abbreviation", phonefaggot. There's a reason 4chan has a rule discouraging it. (You) are an idiot who is too fucking lazy to spell the word "you", and with every post you make you further normalize said laziness and spread it to others, resulting in a net loss of intelligence across the board.
