But why? Electric Kettles have automatic temperature control and are able to maintain the water temperature at 80, 90 95 deg C whatever you set it to. You aren't using some backwards ass kettle are you?

I just go by the sound for tea when it's sort of roar before it gets quiet for 30 seconds and start to actually boil is when I take it off. It's about 185 then. Maybe not ideal for green teas but in don't buy old tea so it doesn't need very long to steep.
