They’re not though. The dough is probably the same, but a calzone is stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan, with some ham (or other meat). Strombolis are more meats/veg with maybe some mozz and sauce.

The only good calzones are the ones where the cheese is actually melted and cooked. I've had calzones where it all falls out all crumbly and shit and I realized that was not a calzone, that was garbage. People tell me otherwise. If that's the case, Strombolis are better.
