What are some tips that your life easier or better in the kitchen? Doesn't have to be life changing, just helpful. Pic not related, but a good show.

>use a garbage bowl while you're prepping
>if you're boiling something like pasta or rice, use your plate as a lid so you get a nice hot plate, just turn the heat down a bit
>get a container of powdered vegetable stock, it's more flexible than cubes or containers of proper stock, and will still improve any dish where you'd just be using water otherwise
>a wooden chopstick tells you when frying oil is ready, bubbles appear on the surface at low frying temp, and they start bubbling off it at high frying temp
>don't throw away any trimmed fat, roughly chop it and leave it in a small pan on low while you prep, you get cooking oil and a crisp snack

Is that from that Japanese TV drama about a guy who just visits all the highly rated restaurants on Yelp (or whatever the Japanese equivalent is) instead of trying to find a wife?

Idk if it will help anyone, but here are tips for my favorite way to have ramen. I don't claim it to be authentic in any way, just what I like (don't worry, it's not as bad as dessert ramen) You need:
>saucepan
>water
>stove
>oriental/soy sauce ramen pack
>frozen peas
>carrots
>green onion
>white mushrooms
>2 eggs
--spice line--
>sesame oil
>sesame seed (optional)
>chopped basil (fresh preferred just because it has stronger flavor, but dried is okay, you just need to use a good deal more)
>ground cayene pepper -OR- crushed red pepper flakes
>black pepper
---------------------
1. water+saucepan+heat
2. add frozen peas until there are enough to obscure the bottom of your saucepan
3. While that's heating up, peel and slice three med. carrots into rounds
4. add carrots to pan
5. when it hits a boil add your noodles as package would suggest (for those that know, I'm not adding egg here out of texture preference)
6. 3min, just like package says-during this time wash/quarter your desired amount of white mushrooms and chop desired green onion
7.lower heat to just above simmer, occasional lil bubbles, but not rolling boil
7.spice time! (this assumes that dry spices are in containers with lil' boi holes)-- flavor packet, add two to three splashes of sesame oil (it will smell stronger than it tastes, don't worry), 1-2 shakes cayene/red pepper, 5ish shakes of basil (sounds like a lot, but the flavor is important, adjust to taste, obviously), a pinch or two of black pepper
8. add green onion rounds and mushroom pieces
9. briefly raise heat and immediately drop in your eggs. Break yolks and every few seconds drag utensil through pan to get long little pieces
10. take off heat as soon as eggs are visibly cooked, let cool, and enjoy
