I won't lie I've never had a Chicago Dog yet want to one day try one, but I imagine the flavors just all overpower the weenie rather than compliment it

I mean a whole pickle spear is pretty powerful flavor, even on hamburgers you gotta be careful to limit the pickles just right.

I've had a couple, including in chicago, and I'd say it goes quite well with the dog, lots of fresh crunch and zip but still plenty of meaty taste. That said I do still love a greasy coney.

My paternal cousins grew up in the Detroit area.

I am vry fat.

I went to my cousins' wedding last spring.

She is a doctor. I am a neet.

We are the same age.

After the wedding I was very hungry and so I looked up on my phone where to eat nearby that were still open and found this nearby Coney place. I figured, why not, it is a 5 minute walk from the hotel I'm at (it is maybe midnight or 1am at this point). I go there, and my cousin and her husband and two dozen or so family and friends are inside. Apparently they all decided to meet there after the wedding ended and nobody told me because I was seated with the older family members since I hadn't seen my cousin since I was 19 even though we are the same age now (30s). Only time I've seen my cousin drunk. She asked me why she saw me covered in confetti in the ER but that's a story for another time. The coneys were ok.

I love the idea of a beef heart/chuck/brisket chili with warm spices that is at the heart of this idea in the Macedonian immigrant consciousness which my family is. I want to recreate a gourmet version with beef heart and some sort of other beef but I haven't tackled that project yet.
