What's the word on Firehouse Subs? There's one near me but I've never been there. Better than Subway at least?

They're generally better than subway but also way more expensive. I worked there for 4 years, they were better when I first started than they are now. When I first started, they had the Beef and Cheddar brisket for a reasonable price. Before I left, that sandwich was over $13 for just the sandwich (large size). Better off going anywhere else. Which Wich is honestly the best sandwich shop around. Their sizes are better, their ingredients are better, the only problem is their prices but the quality of ingredients at Which Wich makes up for it.

I feel like there's this cycle among chain sub shops where everybody is really into a particular chain for a hot minute and then it's on to the next chain.
>Subway is great!
>Subway is shit! I'm all about Quiznos now!
>Quiznos is trash, gimme that Jimmy Johns!
>Jimmy John's? Gross! I'm all about the Jersey Mike's
>etc etc etc.
Every time I see a new sub chain in my area, I assume it'll really popular for about 3-5 years and then half of them will close.
I do miss Blimpie's, though.

>new restaurant comes out

Thing is, the FH locations in my town have been there since 2004. They were legitimately good until 2016-2017 which is when I stopped working there. For just a footlong sub with no drink or any additional items, you're looking at is costing $10+. Granted, FH has some options that subway doesn't, that doesn't justify the hiked up prices. I wish Quiznos hadn't gone under in my area because they gave FH pretty good competition. Last I heard from someone who's relative works at the FH I used to work at is they are probably going to shut down that location. I think the last time I ordered anything from FH was over a year ago. I ordered delivery through this local website. Had to spend $20 just to get them to even do the delivery, which is outrageous. And the delivery person got lost making the delivery. Plus, FH called me and told me that they didn't have certain things I had ordered. That experience was all it took for me to decide to never go back there again. Of the sub places in my town, Which Wich and Jimmy John's are the best. Then comes FH and Subway. So out of the 4 available sub shops here, FH is 3rd. Next to last is still not very good.

that's because, as a new chain grows, it's trying to bilk new investors out of cash to make the original investors rich. when they run out of growth and new investors, the chain has to rely on lowering costs in order to maintain profits, which inevitably leads to the company going bankrupt. then the cycle repeats forever, and ever, and ever.

Never been there either, but the first time I ever heard of them was the Boston Marathon bombings.
There was a Firehouse Subs in the background and wrappers on the ground in the most iconic images of people with maimed bodies and severed limbs.
Google censors the shit out of results, but maybe someone else remembers it.
Ever since then, I kinda want to eat there. Because firemen make the best sandwiches, first responders are natural sandwich makers.

It's decent when it's prepared properly but it's heavily dependent on whether the wagie slicing the meat cares enough to bother.

Sometimes instead of slices of meat you'll get a bunch of meat shavings and it's not good at all. I'd honestly prefer Subway at that point. At least their meat is consistently factory sliced.
