How do you start eating salad? I know that I should learn to eat it. I've just have no idea where to start. Would you guys share some of your salad secrets with me?

Like:
What do you put into a salad?
When during the day do you eat salad?

Start with the tomatoes, croutons, and then finally lick the dressing off the remaining greens. Don't eat them, just kinda use them like you would artichoke leaves.
Once you are done you can throw the greens in the trash since they're used up.

>What do you put into a salad?
Whatever you want, seriously. That being said, there's some safe bets. Grilled chicken is always great in a salad. So is cheese, cucumbers, fresh onions, and tomato. Lettuce is important. Don't bother with shitty iceberg lettuce, use a romaine lettuce instead. You can also mix your lettuce with other leafy greens like raw spinach and arugula. If you're looking for tasty salads, Chicken Caesar and Chef Salads are really good, if a bit calorie heavy. If you're calorie conscious, opt for a vinaigrette dressing instead of a dairy based one.

Eat larger salads like the ones I've mentioned as a meal in and of themselves. Smaller salads are great to have alongside meats, pastas, and soups. A large salad is good for lunch, a side salad is great to round out your dinner.

Good basic dressings. I've saved many a mediocre salad with the following:
Balsamic vinegar, olive oil, pepper and crushed garlic. It gets better if you age it for a few days to let the flavours mix more thoroughly.

For me the key is variety. Plain greens and dressing are fine, I guess, but I like mixing it up. Start with a base of most dark leafy greens like spinach, arugula, kale, chard, etc. Shaved or grated carrot, sliced green onion, mushrooms, cucumber, radish, and cherry tomatoes are all excellent toppings. You could throw in a handful of chickpeas or other beans if you wanted, or some pickled veggies like beets or carrots or even cauliflower. When you're ready for dressing, a light vinaigrette is always preferable to something like ranch or blue cheese, but if you opt for the latter then just take it easy.

Don't fall for the folks that convince you that you have to pack a salad with unhealthy shit to make it palatable. Needing a ton of bacon, cheese, croutons, creamy dressing, a shitload of nuts or dried fruit... all of that is going to take you down a path of much heavier calories than you need to go. A sprinkle of sunflower seeds or a few dried cranberries is fine, but they should form a very minimal part of a healthy salad, not the basis of it.

There are many great salads out there. I will now share one that I never see online, but it's very good.

Eat this in extremely hot weather, usually with greasy food or by itself.

Thinly chopped cucumber
Thinly chopped (or minced) garlic.
Salt
Apple cider vinegar
Olive oil
Very very cold water (enough to make the plate look like soup).
Eat it with a spoon as if it were a soup.

raw veggies are unhealthy because there's poop on them.
cook your veggies
eat frozen veggies simmered with pasta and a spicy tomato sauce.

He didn't say he wanted to start learning to eat 90lb thot diet salad.
800 calories of nutrient-dense food is the best case scenario for daily nutrition. The better quality your calories are, the less you'll hunger for more of them.
Load up a salad with all the veggies you can possibly stomach, using an appropriate amount of meat, cheese, egg, and dressing. You won't get fat no matter how much salad you eat.

Anything.
>When during the day do you eat salad?
Anytime.
For breakfast this morning I had a salad of arugula, cherry tomatoes and red onions, with bbq pulled pork and a sunny side up egg. picrel

If you like japanese food or sushi, a poke salad could be a good start.
It should be good as long as it's accompanied by some oil and not just soy sauce and/vinegar.

Gotta keep those greens nice, silky and fluffy! Nothing's more of a turn off than wilty greens after 5 minutes.

Seems like a pretty sound recipe to me, dumb contrarian faggot. You won't get fat eating veggies and leaves. Go ahead and try.

A salad can be anything.
You don't have to eat an ascetic world-class athlete type of diet to be baseline healthy, and you're also conflating the idea of eating a salad with the thought that eating a salad must always be healthy, when in fact OP just asked to learn how to eat salads, not how to use salads as a tool to lose weight or achieve any specific goal.
Eat an """unhealthy""" salad if you like, it's still better than a fucking cheeseburger and fries. Kys bitter faggot

The secret is salt, oil and vinegar. Green vegetables taste like garbage without it. Make sure you toss your salad before or after you eat ass.

I like to use a mix of salt, olive oil and apple cider vinegar as a basic salad dressing. Avoid the horrible store bought stuff, it's literally toxic, you don't want to eat preservatives and canola oil and all the other rank shit they put in it.

My school has a salad bar so I do this

>loads of baby spinach as the base
>scoop of cottage cheese on the side
>add a bunch of shredded carrots to the cottage cheese
>add green pepper slices, cucumber, tomato, chickpeas and occasionally broccoli on the spinach
>if it’s available, put a little bit of pasta or tortellini with mozzarella on a side of the salad as well

Nice lack of a meaningful response and ad hominem attempt at discrediting my point; I'll take that to mean you had nothing valuable to add but were too embarrassed and immature to admit defeat while being simultaneously too full of yourself to just leave it without response. How else will you embarrass yourself today? Stay tuned and find out!

My Uni dorms had a great salad bar, and I had the same thing everyday:
Spinach, mushrooms, a little bit of olive oil for the mushrooms, a bit of cheese, and maybe croutons/chicken.
Shit was cash, but can easily be unhealthy if you overdo it on the olive oil/cheese.

Salad is fiber+vitamins/minerals. Optional before, after or during any meal but you might be looked at funny for breakfast. Bag of spinach is cheap and stays good longer, but mix greens is good too. Any vinegrette or other dressing is good addition to make it more palatable, along with textural/color elements like cherry tomatoes/sliced tomato, croutons, beans, etc. Add meats to make it a meal and get real sustenance, eat grains on the side (rice/bread) for fuel. My secret is if I'm by myself I might use my hands because you can eat a whole salad so much faster, but I try not to eat like a savage with company
