Stop crackling them on the rim of the bowl or skillet. Crack them on something flat, like the counter, and you'll greatly reduce (but probably not eliminate, at least for a while) shells in your food.

It's all about technique. You can crack the shell on any surface, but the side of a pan wotks best.
Cradle the egg in one hand and using soft strokes, strike the side of the pan with the egg hard enough to create a crack. Rotate the egg and strike it again to continue the crack. Do this two or three more times. The egg shell should easily separate now using both hands or with the one hand technique.
