Well established asian restaurants usually have the same people working there for years either because of family/friends own the place or because of their sheer ineptitude to learn english or go to school (the ESL ones). If you go long enough, they'll recognize you.

Waiting at such a place is actually pretty decent money if you lie on your taxes about tips because most asians will leave $2-$4 minimum even if they eat a $8-$10 meal alone. They probably share with the house but when you're making $8+ bucks per bowl of noodle, it's not hard to understand why owners would try to keep their good workers staying and their good workers wanting to stay.

Sorry, I think my language was misleading. Comes with the trickiness of English syntax. I meant when I moved to Ohio I flew down to Florence, SC and had some boiled peanuts.

Sadly, I have been unable to find boiled peanuts in the Buckeye State and I've looked from Cincy to Cleveland (where I live).

It's a natural thing.

As long as you aren't a complete autist and can reasonably function they will pick up on it. Most Asian servers are very customer service oriented but they also don't bother you while eating except to pour you more water. It is a very relaxing meal and you just build a relationship by being semi-social. Try smiling anon.

It's all right. I was asking where in Ohio you lived. Cleveland, huh? I've driven through, though never stopped. Moved here in 2009 from Vermont. I'm in the western part of the state, about a half hour from Indiana. Been to Cincinnati and Columbus a lot, lots of good eating both places.

This. Ramen is so much better. Pho tastes like nothing, and then the only way to improve it is to blast it with cilantro and hot sauce so in the end just tastes like cilantro and hot sauce.

1. call your local vietnam/fauxchinese place
2. Order a beef pho
3. Wait around 15 minutes for the gooks to put some dish soap in a waterfilled bowl with beef in it, and them heating it in a microwave.
4. Profit!
