Enjoy breaking your stuff and making it smell like shit. All the dirt you let on your dishes isn't magically eliminated by the washing cycle. It simply fucks off in the filter.

If you're lucky it will be fine for a while. But ultimately it will start smelling like shit (food residue + humidty = bad) and you will notice water not going down the drain.

My mother in law's dishwasher "broke" because it clogged up with all the food residue and stopped draining. Like 6 months later I removed it to install a new one, the standing water in there was horrific.

I gave it to a guy who deep cleaned it and replaced a blown fuse and it works great now. I can't wait until her new one gets clogged up again and she lets it fester for a couple of months again.

I have an entry level GE shitbox and even it comes with a "Piranha" hard food disposer, presumably better dishwashers have had them for even longer. I wouldn't dump full bowls of food in there but the stuff stuck to a plate is totally fine. There are still a couple of filters you have to clean out, though.

It's so much simpler to just wash them by hand. Even WITH a dishwasher, you still have to clean the dishes off beforehand and then rinse them when they're done.

My sink looked like this for a while. The garbage disposal had a bunch of glass and rocks stuck in it so I couldn't get anything to go down.

Basically does the sanitize + drying step for you. Dishwasher is a misnomer imo. Also, not all are created equal. If I’m washing dishes alone, it could take an hour or more to clean and dry a whole sink full of dishes. Rinsing off all the good particles, putting them in the washer, then letting them dry before putting them away might take half an hour of actual labor at most.

>> No.11728912

How do you dirty so many dishes at once to justify a dishwasher?
Family holiday dinners sure, but how do you comfortably accumulate that many dirty dishes at once?
Do people not generally wash their dishes right after they're done with them?
It doesn't even take that long to do it by hand.

A dish washer is designed to remove dish stains and flavors and bacterias from dishes. Instead of scrubbing plates with soap and drying them you just rinse them. Sure it stills requires labor but when you have a family or restaraunt its less labor in the long run.

>> No.11729280

I just wipe whatever I can into the garbage quickly with a napkin and let the dishwasher take the rest. My dishwasher has lasted me over 10 years and all my dishes still come out clean. the only thing I hand wash is large pots and pans, my father always told me not to buy something that is not dishwasher safe, since you are just never going to use it anyway.

no, I just put them in the dishwasher then turn it on at night. I mean this is 4chan so we are hardly families of 4 who justify it the most. But even cooking for 1, I fill it in a day or two.

So you don't have any knives, wood utensils, anything aluminum, or any delicate glassware?

>> No.11729334

I have all the above. Minus the delicate glassware. I keep a lot of glasses in the freezer so it kills more than my dishwasher. Ikea glassware is fucking fine, why would I waste money on anything not diswasher safe to have prestige over it? All my pans small enough to fit in the dishwasher are cast iron, so size stops the rest of the shit anyway. I have no idea who told you knives arent dishwasher safe.
