I guess this is a good place to ask this. Tomorrow is my dogs 5th birthday. I want to make him a great filet mignon and veggies and some other stuff and give him a shot of Johnny Walker Blue label. >Dogs cannot tolerate alcohol, even in small amounts.

No one says you have to feed your dog shitty dogfood, but feeding a dog some random ass raw diet you read online is gonna be pretty fucking shit most of the time.

There ARE people knowledgeable enough to do this, most people however grossly underestimate how difficult and expensive it is to prepare a proper balanced diet, especially if you want show quality coats and this is on top of proper exercise for the breed. Which most people are already failing to do with their dogs.

I feed my dog blue buffalo wilderness large breed formula in it's various flavors. a bit pricey, but not terribly so.

Our old beagle, Gator, had a ravenous appetite. We fed him kibbles, but he managed to eat whatever he wanted (jumping on the table, digging up dead animals, eating food off your plate when you turned left, chewing through grocery bags to eat an entire pound of ground beed in roughly 3 seconds)

He was super sweet until you got between him and food, when he became practically demonic, snapping and snarling and biting like his namesake.

We knew something was up when he stopped eating his beloved kibbles (he always ate everything in one go). We started buying him wet food and he liked it a lot. After a few months even that wouldn't do. We took him to the vet and found out he was very sick in his liver, and there wasnt anything we could do.

We started making boiled chicken with peas, carrots and a little potato, and we blended it all up into a pudding. He loved it.

A few weeks later he stopped eating that. We gave him whatever he wanted from our table-- ribs, steak, salmon.

One night he seemed really off. He couldnt seem to walk much. He seemed tired. Dad picked him up and held him at the table, and he ate a little meat from his hands.

Of course we didnt know that was the last thing old Gator would eat. After a lifetime of eating until he made himself sick, of eating things that were definitely not food (crayons, legos, a thumbtack that fell from the kitchen counter), the old pooch was finally sated. True to his great character, he managed to eat his very last day, despite advanced liver disease. He died in my brothers arms that night, just a couple hours after his steak dinner.
