do you boil your instant ramen on the stove, or do you steep it in boiling water?

my friend grabs a giant bowl, like three packs of ramen and throws it in the microwave. after that is finished, he lets it sit for 10 minutes to allow the noodles to engorge themselves in the broth. it's disgusting. cold, chicken flavored instant ramen

Bring small pot of water to boil on medium heat, the salt from the soup packets will speed this up so add them before or after the water boils.
Add ramen. The moment the noodles are soft enough to stab and not break, turn off the heat.
Let sit for roughly two minutes, however long it takes for the noodles to absorb some soup al dente.
Drain most soup or not at all, eat immediately.

If you halve the power and double the time, you get more consistent heating for most items. Doesn't really apply to ramen as it's mostly water, but it's a good rule of thumb to remember.

I remember seeing a microwave ramen cooker advertised. It was like 10-15 bucks for a piece of plastic. Silly, and probably not healthy cooking it in plastic like that over and over. It got my brain thinking, though.
I found a Pyrex bowl like the one in the pic here at WinCo. I stuffed a ramen block in it in the store and it fit perfectly, so I bought it.
I find that most ramen blocks are perfect if you cover them with water in the little bowl and then microwave them for 3 minutes and 30 seconds at 1100 watts. Super easy and convenient.

Oh, the bowl/storage thingie was like $4.50. A lot better than a $10-15 hunk of plastic.

The perfect meal is this:
>Two bags of ramen
>Teaspoon of curry powder
>Half teaspoon of chilli powder
>Teaspoon of sesame seeds
>Two chopped frankfurters (foreskin removed)
>Peanut oil
>Bring it to the boil and eat it at 5am while playing dark souls 2.

>Turn on faucet
>Wait for water to get hot
>Open bag on one end
>Sprinkle packet in
>Pour water into bag
>Wait like a minute
>Pour 3/4 of liquid out
>Consume

How I survived for a while. Shits garbage though just get better ramen. Get instant ramen in bowls. At least its a step up from Maruchan.

Pan fry it.
>1 cup water
>bring water to boil in skillet
>lay brick in it whole
>let it cook for about a minute
>flip
>now put in seasonings
>start working the noodles around separating them
>keep stirring them around until all water is gone
Makes a nice sticky noodle
