Excluding straight-up deep frying it, the recipe to which legitimate dish uses the most butter?

Made a curry one time that used 1 lb of dry chickpeas, 2 onions, spices, and 1/2 lb of butter. It was pretty tasty and I don't necessarily think butter is unhealthy, but I don't know about eating that much in a single serving.

Cakes use a lot of butter though, usually a couple sticks in the batter and more used for the frosting and greasing the pans.

wait... do you mean like actually deep-fried butter or did you miss an "in" somewhere in the middle part and meant "deep frying something IN butter"?

The 'in' is intentionally elided. Take stick of butter, freeze it. Dip in cake batter. Deep fry. Serve with a glaze.
