You're not very good at history if you think men haven't been performing as women for centuries. It's already a thing that has been normalized. It's only recently, like the last fifty to a hundred years or so, that it was un-normalized. Almost every single culture has a history of men performing dressed as women; white people, Asian people, and indigenous people topping the list as prevalent crossdressers for theatre.

Whether or not we let 8 year old boys play dress up is an entirely separate issue, and that seems to be the bone you're picking. Just because you don't think kids should be led down this path doesn't mean that everything that blurs gender lines a little bit is bad; learn to think critically.

Same, I definitely agree. It is an adult practice for adults. If you took something else similar and tried to transpose it to children, people would go mental. For instance, it's popular in drag culture for some queens to identify as "bondage queens," meaning they like to wear a lot of leather in very restrictive outfits, very tight waist cincher, etc like pic related; if you had a child drag queen wearing bondage gear, though, people would be having a fit.

I think people on both sides of the argument need to stop putting their ideals before their children. Yes, adult men should be able to dress like women if they want, or wear women's clothes while still presenting as male, and no one should be targeted by hate crime because of it; making or letting your child be a martyr for that cause is just fucked.

Is the result that everyone's getting executed?
