I started hating them when they started offering a sandwich on asiago bread that they would never fucking have.
The sierra turkey was being marketed with asiago bread, but every time I fucking ordered it
they would have it with soggy, white sandwich bread instead.
One time I demanded the manager lower the price of the sandwich since it wasn't being sold with the bread they advertised.
He said no so I never went back.

St. Louis Bread Company was great a couple decades ago. Good food, good portions, great prices. Everything was made in the store.
They attracted a young crowd because their locations were near major high schools and teenagers could get a good meal they could afford and do their homework in a relaxed atmosphere.

I worked for a restaurant and we would trade foods with panera. It was nice as a change, but why would anyone go to a place that sells normal sandwiches that are so simple a 7 year old retarded kid could make them?

I've worked back-of-house at Panera for nearly three years at a busy location, let me tell you: those bakers were the best fucking people in that entire store, consistently. I've had four bro-tier bakers with no shitty ones, while the fuckasses who failed dining crew got to lounge on the fucking line.

all of our pastries are shaped, proofed and baked fresh each day.

It was just fucking hell because I worked in a high volume cafe and i had to keep pumping out all this shit for both catering and the cafe itself while having an angry filipino woman screaming at me to fucking measure every godamn cinamon roll so it was "gold standard"

what they didnt understand was that this particular cafe made around 2 thousand cinnamon rolls daily.
all the actual cafe employees didnt treat you like part of their cafe since all the bakers were "travelers" and got sent to whatever cafe needed a baker that night.
my worst experience was that I opened a cafe, and was its sole baker 6 days a week. in its first year it made history and become southern californias best panera, they got a comercial and the upper heads came through to congratulate the cafe.
no thanks tome whats so ever though.
and what hurt more is that for the actual comercial they brought in some undocumented girl from a different market all together and had her be the baker.
walked out that same night.
