Pretty close but more cheese and it had to have carmelized onions on it too.

I'm guessing because there's a market for them.

Jacks sourdough melt was my thing before I became vegan. I don't regret my decision one bit.

It's recently gotten fashionable to be a picky bitch about spelling and grammar around here. Ignore the kids.

I LOVE a good patty melt. My only gripe with some of the ones I’ve tried was a lack of sauce, either on the sandwich or on the side for dipping. The last time I made one for myself, it had
>2 beef patties
>Swiss and American cheese
>caramelized onions
> home made dill pickles
>grilled rye bread

I dipped it in my special sauce, a ketchup/mayo based sauce with worcestershire, hot sauce, whole grain mustard, and plenty of freshly ground black pepper.

Acidic counter to all those rich components of a good patty melt! I put them on my sandwich, though.

Truthfully, having made my own buns and bread, buns are too bready and thinner sliced bread lets the meat patty be the star of the show as it should be. Kind of fits into the attempt by megacorporations to fill you with bread and convince you to think that's a good thing.

Those are some fine looking buns. Not opposed to a burger, or any sandwich, being on a bun, as long as it tastes good and doesn’t get in the way of other ingredients. The texture of grilled bread on a patty melt is one of its stongest selling points, imo.
