Roasting chicken requires 5-10 minutes of actual effort, with the rest of the time just being waiting for it to cook while you do other things like watch tv, do the laundry, etc. Shopping for it takes 0 extra time as most people do grocery shopping anyway, so there are no special trips required.

Going to McDonalds requires making a special trip there and back, waiting an average of 3 minutes. Even if getting into the McDonalds only takes you 2 minutes out of you way, the time factor becomes nullified.

So it's still more expensive and less nutritious to eat at McDonalds.
